Waiting for reviews from opening night can be nerve-racking. Janet Ivey, from Janet’s Planet was waiting to hear what her critics would say following her debut theatrical presentation at Nashville’s Adventure Science Museum this last Sunday. She was relieved when the reviews came in.

I asked Libby if she enjoyed the show. She responded, I sure did. I'm really glad I was there to make it so great! - Libby Harvey

It was as good as a Disney show! - Sergei Wright

Alyssa got to meet Janet of Janet's Planet at the premier of her live show and was Starstruck! says Linda Sue Simmons, Alyssa’s mom.

…then I had to give Janet's Planet a towel to help Janet's robot when he was having problems... Great show!!! - Lennox Goebel

The critics concur. Great show.

Brian & Irene Cunningham of Atlantic Steps premiered their new show Saturday night at the Beverly Art Center in South Chicago. Performing with the Cunningham siblings was the husband and wife dance team, Joseph Moriarty and Yulia Lakianova. Joe has just concluded his 14th season as lead dancer for Riverdance. Also performing during the evening was an incredible traditional Irish band led by the Irish-American News Male Musician of the Decade, the incomparable, Jimmy Keane. Introduced to American audiences in Saturday’s show was the rich voice of Ciara Walton, whose voice matched perfectly her selections of traditional Irish and Irish language tunes. Seen in the audience for Saturday night’s premier was one of Ireland’s finest imports, and world-class tenor, Michael Londra. The audience was appreciative, whooping and clapping along to the "sean nós" (old-style) dancing and giving all the performers a lengthy standing ovation at the conclusion of the evening.

Today is Bob Dylan’s 70th Birthday! In a tribute article to this landmark, The New Yorker referenced our own Ebony Hillbillies and their recording and video of Dylan’s song, Buckets of Rain.

If you often take the Times Square shuttle from Grand Central, you’ve probably stopped for a few minutes to listen to an African-American jug-style string band called the Ebony Hillbillies, and wished you didn’t have to go to work. Now you can watch them playing “Buckets of Rain” behind Garland Jeffries.

The reviews are in. British actor David Payne and his show, An Evening with CS Lewis were a big hit with those in attendance at the sold-out Gallo Center for the Arts last night.

On a scale of 1-10 it was a 10!!!

I expected a good show but the performance exceeded my expectations!

I felt like I was listening to Lewis himself.

Thanks for bringing him to Modesto!!

Fabulous.

Excellent.

Standing o at the end.

I was fortunate enough to have read every Lewis biography and studied Lewis, even got to go inside his home in his Oxford village, etc. The actor got it all right and blended humor and drama, theology and biography, childhood and adult hood perfectly.

JRA Fine Arts is proud to add to our roster the Brass Quintet, Spectrum Brass and their incomparable presentation, Who Could Ask for Anything More – An all-Gershwin Revue. We just received the following letter following a recent presentation in Van Buren, AR:

The Spectrum Brass Concert in Van Buren was one of the best concerts we have presented in the last three years. The musicianship and quality of the musical arrangements were first-rate. The unabridged rendition of Rhapsody in Blue was one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that none in the audience will forget. Spectrum Brass was a true joy to work with.
